MASONIC MATTERS

by Ed Halpaus
Grand Lodge Education Officer
Grand Lodge of A. F. & A. M. of Minnesota

These publications, which are incomplete, contains the writings and opinions of Ed Halpaus and is not meant as the opinion of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota.

This e-publication called Masonic Matters begun to pass on information to Masonic Students, information he would come across that in his opinion would be of useful interest to Freemasons. Because of this some of the content may not meet the strictest test of a Masonic article; however, many would, and he thinks many will meet the test of being a Masonic article if we think of a Masonic article being one which would include information that is useful and interesting information a Mason could learn from. Articles are mostly written by him, but at times he would include works from others, whose writing heI enjoyed.

Other e-publications that Ed is involved with is More Light and T.F.S. (3, 5, & 7)

Some Masonic information about Ed:

Ed Halpaus, served as  the Grand Lodge Education Officer for the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Minnesota. He dedicated himself to write articles on Freemasonry for the benefit of Masons and non-Masons alike.

He truly believes that both the initiated and the uninitiated need good accurate information on what Freemasonry is and is not, and he thinks the best place for everyone to get information on Freemasonry is from a knowledgeable Mason.

Also he served as the Executive Secretary of The Philalethes Society, which is a Masonic Research Society; while it is an international society it is the premiere Masonic Research Society in North America. In his opinion every serious Masonic student who has been initiated and is a member of a regular Grand Lodge should consider becoming a member of it as well the uninitiated who wish to learn more.  can subscribe to its magazine, the Philalethes.

Some of his Masonic Awards he has received:

Fellow of The Philalethes Society
Fellow of The Masonic Society
Recipient of the National Duane E. Anderson Award for excellence in Masonic Education
Recipient of the Minnesota Duane E. Anderson Award for Excellence in Masonic Education
Recipient of the District Representative of the Year from the Grand Lodge of Minnesota
Recipient of the Masonic Brotherhood of the Blue Forget-me-not Award.
