The Masonic Trowel

... to spread the cement of brotherly love and affection, that cement which unites us into one sacred band or society of brothers, among whom no contention should ever exist, but that noble emulation of who can best work or best agree ...

MISSION

To promote a way of life that binds like-minded men in a world wide brotherhood that transcends all religious, ethnic, cultural, social and educational differences; by teaching the great principals of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth; and, by the outward expression of these, through its fellowship, its compassion and its concern, to find ways in which to serve God, family, country, neighbors and self.

WHAT DO WE DO

We are respectable citizens who are taught to conform to the moral laws of society and abide by the laws of the government under which we live.

We are men of charity and good works. We remain unchallenged as "the world's greatest philanthropy!"  The Freemasons of America contribute almost two million dollars every day to charitable causes which we, alone, have established. These services to mankind represent an unparalleled example of the humanitarian commitment and concern of unique and honorable Fraternity.

But we also teach leadership skills and help men lead an ethics based life. We promote good relationships and strong family values. We try to do something to strengthen the family unit everyday.

We are men that take care of each other and our families. We are a fraternity. That means we help other Masons, treat them in special ways, support them no matter where they live; and build friendships all over the world. Not many organizations do that today.

WHAT DO WE GET OUT OF IT

A lot of pride, a sense of belonging to an organization that exists all over the world. Being a part of a great heritage. Sharing an identity with the greatest men of the past, and of today. Sharing a special bond with men from all walks of life, creating life long friendships with them. Just being a member of an organization that believes in toleration; that lets each man think for himself and express his own opinions, without worrying about being wrong. I get a whole lot more out of Masonry than I put into it.
